Old Lyme – The town’s Building and Health Departments said about 200 homes are currently uninhabitable and have been isolated from electric service, according to a town press release.
Homeowners must follow several guidelines before electricity is restored to the homes: a licensed electrician must inspect the house’s electric service and a gas installer must inspect the LP Gas system. A water testing laboratory must also test the drinking water, or if the building uses a water company, a recent bill is satisfactory, the release stated.
The town is still under emergency orders and residents can call the emergency operations center at (860) 598-0120 with questions.
The Lyme’s Senior Center remains open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Polls will be open tomorrow from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Cross Lane Fire Station Tuesday.
How would you assess CL&P's response to the storm?
