Norwich - The U.S. Postal Service has postponed a community meeting originally scheduled for Wednesday to discuss the future status of the Yantic Post Office.
The new meeting will be held a week later, at 6 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Yantic Fire Engine Co. No. 1, a short distance from the post office building at 131 Yantic Road.
A Postal Service spokeswoman said the threat of a major storm Wednesday prompted the postponement.
The Yantic Post Office closed in February under an emergency order after a safety issue emerged that resulted in a police investigation.
Representatives from the postal service will be at the meeting. No decisions about the post office will be made until after the public meeting.
