Montville rallies past Bacon 3-2 to win ECC boys' soccer title

Montville — Connor Leeman’s goal with 21 minutes remaining capped a furious second-half comeback that led second-seeded Montville High School to a 3-2 victory over top-seeded and previously unbeaten Bacon Academy in the Eastern Connecticut Conference boys’ soccer tournament championship game Tuesday.

The Indians (17-1) trailed 2-0 at halftime, but a pair of goals by Jeff Tryon pulled Montville even and Leeman scored the game winner to beat the Bobcats (17-1), who were ranked No. 1 in the Class M-S state poll and who defeated the Indians 1-0 late in the regular season.
