FEMA - the Federal Emergency Management Agency - is reminding residents whose property suffered damage during Hurricane Sandy that in order to receive federal assistance they must register with FEMA, but that it doesn't have to be done in person.

Those with smartphone or computer access can register for assistance online by visiting www.disasterassistance.gov or m.fema.gov. Follow the link that reads “Apply online for federal assistance.” Registration is also available by phone at 1-800-621-3362.
