The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce will welcome Semolina Pasta Shop to Olde Mistick Village with an official ribbon-cutting and Grand Opening Ceremony at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 14th. The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut will once again this year collect toys for the Marine Corps Reserves' Toys for Tots program.
Participants in the chamber's business after hours networking event Dec. 5 at the Holiday Inn, Norwich, are being asked to bring an unwrapped gift for a child. The networking event is scheduled from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 10 Laura Blvd., at exit 80 off I-395.

Elizabeth David, Assistant Vice President at Merrill Lynch in New London, recently joined the Board of Trustees of Kurn Hattin Homes for Children. The non-profit organization, located in Westminster, Vt., is a home and school serving children in need from throughout the Northeast.
David, a 22-year resident of Old Saybrook, was raised in the town of Springfield in southern Vermont. Her parents, Sherburne and Marjorie Lovell, were active donors to Kurn Hattin Homes for Children and supported the school's efforts in numerous ways over the years.

David Ornstein, regional sales manager of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage New Homes Division, has won a 2012 Home Building Industry (HOBI) Award from the Home Builders & Remodelers Association (HBRA) of Connecticut, Inc. Ornstein will be recognized as New Home Sales Manager of the Year at an awards dinner organized by the HBRA of Connecticut that will take place on Nov. 14 at the Aqua Turf Country Club in Southington.
Ornstein was recognized last year as the New Home Broker of the Year.

Pat Provost, manager of the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage's Essex, Old Lyme and Old Saybrook sales offices, was recently honored with the President's Council award. As part of the recognition, Provost was awarded with a luxurious stay at Mohonk Mountain House in New Paltz, N.Y.
