Recur Occurrence's finale

It will be a sad yet glorious evening Saturday at 33 in New London. One of the city's finest bands, Recur Occurrence, is calling it quits and will perform a farewell set. Comprised of Corina Malbaurn, Jason Banta and Ben LaRose, RO has consistently produced powerful, melodic, fun rock, and this is a loss for the scene.

At the same time, one of the most intriguing of our newer acts, Wrist Like This, is also on the bill, celebrating the release of a new cassette called "Amoral Kiosk" - and, yes, the idea of a cassette release is for some reason very delicious.

There's a nice poetry to this bill, which also includes Power Blessings. Banta, Recur's guitarist/vocalist and one of the Truly Good Folks, produced the "Amoral Kiosk" sessions. Expect much warm interplay and good vibes betwixt musicians and fans all night.

- RICK KOSTER

Wrist Like This, Recur Occurrence, Power Blessings, 9 p.m. Saturday, 33, 33 Golden St., New London; $5; (860) 443-1193.
