The time has arrived for some Thanksgiving football showdowns as all 10 of Shore Publishing’s teams are in action with their annual rivalry games in the next two days. Let’s take a look.

Wednesday, Nov. 21

Guilford at Hand, 7 p.m.

Having already clinched a Class L Playoff berth, the state’s top-ranked Hand squad (9-0) hosts Southern Connecticut Conference foe Guilford, which has won its last four games to stand at 5-4.

Hyde at North Branford, 6 p.m.

It’s a battle of unbeaten teams as Hyde and North Branford both enter this duel at 9-0 with the winner staking claim to the Pequot Sassacus Division title and looking great for a Class S Playoff berth.

Haddam-Killingworth at Valley Regional/Old Lyme, 6:30 p.m.

Two winning teams will clash in a Pequot Sassacus matchup when 5-4 Haddam-Killingworth meets 6-3 Valley Regional/Old Lyme. Valley is coming off last week’s 45-0 victory against East Hampton/Vinal Tech.

Old Saybrook/Westbrook at Morgan, 6:30 p.m.

After beating Haddam-Killingworth 44-20, Old Saybrook/Westbrook travels to Clinton to take on its Pequot Sassacus rival Morgan, which just beat Coginchaug 41-15. The Rams are 5-4 and Morgan is 4-5.

Thursday, Nov. 22

Amity at North Haven, 10 a.m.

North Haven is 6-3 and has a shot to snag a Class L Playoff appearance if it beats SCC opponent Amity and a few other teams lose. Amity enters the game at 4-5.

Branford at East Haven, 10:30 a.m.

It’s the 71st edition of this Thanksgiving game between two crosstown SCC rivals. Branford is after a .500 season with a record of 4-5 while the Yellowjackets (1-8) look for their first win since their opening game of the campaign.
