That's some curriculum vitae, Young Lady! New York singer-songwriter Dani Elliot, who performs at New London's 33 on Friday, is a graduate of the New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music and counts Minnie Ripperton, Jill Scott and Stevie Wonder as heroes. Original tunes such as "Can't Make Up My Mind" and "Take It Back" reveal a rich ore of jazz-pop melodies.

A seasonal good cause: At the 33 show, Elliott urges fans to help out New London's Covenant House Shelter. A rep will be at the gig collecting scarves and hats for men, women and children.

Don't forget the Pandas! Also headlining is a terrific new band called Young Pandas. Featuring members of Mike Maven, Bad Rabbits, Shai Hulud and Brown Bag Allstars, Young Pandas formed after working on a project with The Roots' Grammy-winning engineer, Jason Goldstein. Delicious antecedants range from Bill Withers and Prince to Bon Iver and Miike Snow.
