Man injured in New London baseball bat attack

New London – Police said a 45-year-old man suffered head injuries Tuesday night after being attacked with a baseball bat by a group of men on Jay Street.

The unidentified man was taken to the hospital, police said. His condition was not released.

Police said after the attack at 66 Jay St., the assailants fled in a silver Volkswagen Jetta. When the vehicle and owner were located a short time later, police said, the assailants were no where to be found.

Police said the incident remains under investigation and ask that any witnesses contact the New London Police Department at 860-447-1481. All call are confidential.
