Montville — The town’s social services department is in need of donations to help provide approximately 200 turkeys to needy families in town.

The turkeys are part of the department’s annual contributions in advance of the holidays. It also prepared 350 food baskets for needy town residents.

Socials Services Director Kathleen Doherty-Peck said the department also will accept turkey donations. The turkeys must be dropped off at the town’s senior center by Saturday, when they will be distributed throughout town, Peck said.

For more information, call (860) 848-8820 or visit the senior center at 12 Maple Ave.
