Norwich Free Academy quarterback-defensive back Joey Paparelli was one of 13 local players to be chosen to one of the five Connecticut High School Coaches' Association all-state teams.

Paparelli was selected to the "All-Class" team. He helped lead the Wildcats to an unbeaten regular season, the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division title and a berth in the CIAC Class LL final.

NFA running back Marcus Outlow and defensive lineman Tuzar Skipper were both selected to the Class LL team. East Lyme's Matt Gillespie (offensive lineman) and Fitch's Patrick Kirkwood (linebacker) were chosen to the Class L team.

The region was best represented on the Class M team. It featured Jake Basilica (offensive lineman), Nick Clemons (defensive back) and Isaiah Holloway (linebacker) from Montville, Ledyard offensive linemen Ben Morales and Kyle Wilson, receiver Caleb Camacho and linebacker Joquin Riley of New London and Waterford defensive lineman David Willox.
