Police search for suspect in Franklin 7-Eleven robbery

Franklin – Police are looking for the suspect in the attempted armed robbery Monday afternoon of a 7-Eleven on Route 32 who fled on foot towards Norwich after the crime.

The 6-foot-2-inch tall, white male suspect had a few days growth of facial hair and wore dark pants, a gray jacket, white gloves, a black knit hat and black sneakers. He displayed a black hand gun, police said.

According to police, the man entered the store around 4:30 p.m., showed the gun and demanded money. The clerk ran into the store's office and locked the door, police said. The suspect tried to open to register, but couldn't, police said and then left the store and ran through a field towards Norwich.
