Providence -- Freshman Kris Dunn made quite an impact in his Providence College debut on Tuesday night.
A McDonald’s All-American guard out of New London High School, Dunn set a PC season high for assists in a game (13) in a 79-45 rout of Colgate at the Dunkin Donuts Center.
His assist total also was a school record for a Friar freshman making his debut.
Dunn finished with seven points and six rebounds. His jump shot was a bit rusty, as he went just 3-for-13 from the field.
The addition of Dunn strengthens the Friars, who improved to 8-2.
Dunn, who set the all-time scoring record at New London, sat out the first nine games this season while recovering from right shoulder surgery in July.
It took Dunn only 15 seconds after he entered the game early in the first half to score his first career basket, as he converted an offensive rebound.
What is your reaction to the way the media have covered the deadly shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown?
