Volunteers are needed to join the town’s newly-established Tax Study Committee.

On Jan. 8, the Town Council voted to establish the committee, which will look at tax programs available to municipalities which may allow the town to defer, freeze or amend the current tax structure in North Branford.  By State Statutes, the Town Council can’t amend its current tax structure unless an advisory committee such as this one is established. The newly-formed Tax Study Committee will have 60 days to report back to the Town Council.

Those interested in joining the volunteer committee are asked send a letter of interest to Interim Town Manager Bonnie Therrien. She asks the letter include “…some background information on yourself, along with why you are interested in being a part of the committee.”  Letters should be sent no later than Jan. 30, 2013.

ITALIC: Letters of interest should be emailed to townmanager@townofnorthbrafordct.com">townmanager@townofnorthbrafordct.com or mailed to: Town Manager’s Office, 909 Foxon Road, North Branford, 06471. Questions? Call Bonnie Therrien, Interim Town Manager, (203) 484-6000.
