UConn junior Shabazz Napier collected another weekly Big East honor on Monday.
He was named to the honor roll after averaging 27.5 points and shooting 55.6 percent from the field in wins over DePaul and Cincinnati last week.
Napier is having a Big East player-of-the-year type season.
Georgetown's Otto Porter is the clear front-runner in the Big East POY race. He'll be hard to beat after posting 33 points, eight rebounds and five steals while leading Georgetown past Syracuse, 57-46, Saturday at the Carrier Dome. He also has led his team to first place.
Porter earned his second straight player of the week honor for his efforts.
Georgetown's John Thompson III is considered the favorite to win Big East coach of the year.
UConn's Kevin Ollie is another strong candidate. The Huskies need just one more win to guarantee their first conference winning record since the 2008-09 season. They've gone 8-10, 9-9 and 7-11 in the last three seasons.
UConn (19-7, 9-5) has the opportunity to make a major statement Wednesday night when it hosts seventh-ranked Georgetown(21-4, 11-3) at Gampel Pavilion in Storrs.
It will be the Huskies' last game against a ranked opponent this season. A win also would keep them in the regular season title race.
