West Hartford — Police have arrested four local people in connection with the March 30 robbery of the Solid Gold jewelry store at 38 Kane St.
Thomas Ibbison, 26, of 150 Yantic St., Apt. 109, Norwich; Edward Makara, 34, of 41 S. Main St., Jewett City; Luis Carlos Burgos, 39, of 466 Norwich Ave., Norwich; and Kenneth Bryant, 38, of 462 Norwich Ave., Norwich, were each charged with first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, first-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit first-degree larceny.
Police said they responded to the store at 8:12 p.m. on March 30. Employees said three men entered the store with a gun, fired a round into the ceiling and stole about $60,000 in gold chains.
Police said the men wore mask, hoods and gloves.
Police said tips received after media coverage of the robbery led to the arrests.
Ibbison was also charged with two counts of assault on public safety personnel when he fought with two West Hartford police officers who attempted to arrest him.
The Norwich, Willimantic and New Britain police departments assisted with the investigation.
The case remains under investigation.
