Norwich — A Norwich woman was charged with prostitution during an early morning sting conducted in the Greeneville section of the city.
Police said Beth Sikorski, 44, of last known address 88 Central Ave., was seen loitering in the area, trying to gain the attention of passing motorists.
Police said Sikorski has been arrested for prostitution in the past. Police said they conducted the sting in an attempt to "clean up" the area and improve the quality of life for its residents and businesses.
An undercover police officer made an agreement with Sikorski to exchange money for sexual favors, police said. A motor vehicle stop in the area of Hamilton Avenue and Smith Street was conducted, and Sikorski was placed under arrest.
Sikorski will be arraigned in Norwich Superior Court on July 25.
