Primary voters backed the right candidate

I have always suspected that the Norwich Democratic Town Committee was not representative of the voters, but it was not until Sept. 10 mayoral primary that I discovered to what extent the DTC missed the mark.

Deb Hinchey, despite not getting nominated by a majority of 60-some DTC members, garnered more than 57 percent of the votes, crushing the DTC's chosen (endorsed) one, Charlie Jaskiewicz.

It is way past time that the DTC's archaic methods and members come out from behind the curtain and make themselves and their qualifications known to the voters of Norwich.
