The Southeastern Central Connecticut Labor Council, AFL-CIO has endorsed three candidates for New London City Council and two candidates for New London Board of Education ahead of the Nov. 5 municipal elections.
Incumbent Democrats Wade Hyslop Jr and Michael Passero, along with Green Party challenger Ronna Stuller, received the labor group’s endorsements for City Council. The labor group endorsed incumbent Democrat Margaret Mary Curtin and Green Party challenger Mirna Martinez for Board of Education.
“We feel that these individuals will work hard for the citizens and working families of their respective towns,” Wayne Burgess, president of the Southeastern Connecticut Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO said in a statement.
The group said the endorsements were decided after “a careful questionnaire and interview process.”
