New London — Police arrested a local man Tuesday who they say was riding a dirt bike in a reckless manner throughout the city.

Divon Green, 18, of 88 Williams St., Apt. 2, was charged with driving under suspension, reckless driving, disobeying an officer's signal, failure to obey a stop sign and driving a motorcycle without face protection.

Police said they were patrolling the Bates Woods area when they saw several males riding dirt bikes in an unsafe manner. Police said they recognized Green as one of the drivers who eluded police. Green was subsequently arrested at his residence.

During the investigation, police said they impounded three dirt bikes. The investigation continues and police anticipate further arrests.

Green's court date is scheduled for Nov. 8.
