BB Shack in Branford features fresh, not-frozen food and local beers on tap, including Thimble Island's American Ale and Coffee Stout. Chef David Brooks is a Branford native and graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He cut his teeth in fine restaurants like La Bernardin and La Panetierre. He was also the owner of Judies European Bakery.
BB Shack uses antibiotic-free, humanely raised beef, pork, and chicken, as well as the best-quality seafood and produce from local and sustainable sources. Rice bran oil is used for frying, and all foods are made from scratch.
BB Shack offers a variety of events and specials, including happy hour from Monday to Friday, 4 to 6 p.m. ($2 off all drinks), and an Upside down Happy Hour daily from 10 p.m. to midnight ($2 off all drinks). There is a DJ on Friday nights, Sunday brunch, and much more.
