Cab driver robbed in New London

New London — Police are investigating the armed robbery of a cab driver that occurred Friday morning in the area of Prest Street near Blackhall Street.

Police said the cab driver picked up a man at Union Station who then displayed a knife and robbed the cab driver. The incident occurred around 8 a.m.

The robber fled on foot. Police set up a perimeter and used a K-9 to find search the area but were unsuccessful in finding the suspect.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male in his late 20s to mid 30s. He was wearing a light-brown hooded sweatshirt.
