Groton – A Pfizer facility off Eastern Point Road was evacuated on Thursday following a report that two containers inside the building had built up pressure.

The Pfizer Fire Department was joined at the scene by Groton City Fire Department at about 1 p.m.

The evacuation was a precautionary measure, and the containers were safely vented and disposed of, according to Pfizer spokesman Steve Danehy. Pfizer has not said what was inside the containers.

There were no injuries or property damage reported, Danehy said.
