UPDATED: Power restored to CL&P customers in Groton

Groton — A downed tree on Pleasant Street in Stonington Tuesday knocked out power to more than 1,500 Connecticut Light & Power customers in Groton, according to a CL&P spokesman.

The power outage was first reported at about 8:30 p.m. At 9:30 p.m., CL&P reported 1,526 customers in Groton and another eight in Stonington were without power.

Power was restored by 10 p.m., according to the CL&P website.
