A non-profit organization, Boxes for Soldiers Connecticut, is seeking donations for care packages to send to deployed service members, as well as the names and addresses’ of deployed soldiers.

Anyone with a relative who is deployed can submit their name and address to info@boxesforsoldiersct.com or contact Hospital Corpsman Third Class Russell Rider at 860-617-0344. Businesses that would like to donate should also contact Rider.

Drop-off locations are listed on the website, www.boxesforsoldiersct.com, along with recommendations for items to donate. A collection will take place at the Wauregan in Norwich on Dec. 10 at 2 p.m.

The organization, which is run by active-duty service members and their relatives, is also asking for letters of thanks to ship with the boxes. The deployed service members especially enjoyed last year’s letters from local students thanking the troops.
