Books & Bagels with Lev Rosen

The annual Books & Bagels series of Congregation Beth Shalom Rodfe Zedek will open with Lev Rosen on Sunday, November 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the synagogue in Chester. Rosen will discuss and read from his new book, All Men of Genius. Bagels, coffee and other refreshments will be served.

In the literary world, Rosen’s book could be considered part of the steampunk genre. Steampunk lit, a descendant of science fiction and fantasy writing, incorporates the use of steam power as a source of energy, and the associated setting is generally Victorian-era Britain. Violet Adams, a brilliant young scientist, is desperate to study at the male-only Illyria College in London. She disguises herself as her twin brother Ashton, gains entry and is off on adventures of romance, invention and suspense.
