Artist Reception, Aug. 1, Mystic

Children and families are invited to meet artist and illustrator, Lisa Adams, and view her exhibit of illustrations in the Ames Room at the Mystic & Noank Library. Born in Vermont and a graduate of the Pratt Institute, Adams now makes her home on a sheep farm in Mystic. Adams uses a mix of super-realism, collage, out-sider art and hand-lettering that show her quirky wit and ironic edge. Adams has illustrated numerous children's books, and has had her art featured in numerous mainstream magazines, including Parent's Magazine. She was a featured artist for Swarthmore Artist's Papers; free; (860) 536-7721.
