In Concert-presented by Opera Comique of Portsmouth, England

Opera Comique from Portsmouth, England, will be winding down its 2012 New England tour with a special concert at Union Baptist Church, Mystic, CT on Sunday, August 26 at 4pm. The touring group of about a dozen performers under the direction of Kevin Sivyer will present a concert version of Gilbert and Sullivan's popular operetta Pirates of Penzance. Also on the program are members of the Midletown based Connecticut Gilbert and Sullivan Society who will perform excerpts from their upcoming production of the double bill Trial by Jury and H.M.S. Pinafore. John E. Dreslin of Stonington, their music director, also serves as organist at the church. There will be a free will offering to support the ministries of Union Baptist Church.
