French film festival at Westerly Library

Westerly Library is participating with the Rhode Island International Film Festival in presenting “Le Jour le plus Court” (The Shortest Day). The Shortest Day is an international celebration of French speaking short films and their directors.
The goals of Le Jour le plus Court are to promote short films to the general public, encourage amateur work and contribute to cultural democratization, and to develop the essential role of networks and associations that work all year long to program and promote short films
The short films to be presented are: Bye Bye; Mon petite frère de la lune (My Little Brother From The Moon); Un homme debout (A man still standing); Alice et Moi (Alice and I); Cheveau (Hair).
The festival starts at 4 p.m. and is free. Westerly Public Library is located at 44 Broad St. in Westerly and can be reached at (401) 596-2877.
