Take A Trip Down Memory Lane: Circa 1940 Colchester in Miniatures and Photo Exhibit

Take A Trip Down Memory Lane: Circa 1940 Colchester in Miniatures and Photo Exhibit; Wednesday, December, 5, 2012

Wednesday  7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

The Colchester Historical Society museum opens a new exhibit featuring miniatures of historic town buildings and “Windows to the Past” photos, revealing many of the same buildings in a unique combination of past and present. This exhibit is the work of two local artisans. Don Standish crafted his replicas in wood to depict the town as it was in the 1940s. Richard Arsenault uses a technique known as “windows” to link vintage photo with a new digital image.

A grand opening for the exhibit will take place at the museum on December 5th at 7 to 9PM and the public is invited. The exhibit will remain at the museum at least through January and will be on view every Saturday from 1-4PM at the Colchester Historical Society Museum at Linwood Avenue, Colchester, Connecticut.
