Open House with Writers Block Ink Students
Tuesday 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Connecticut Landmarks and Hempsted Houses hosts If These Walls Could Speak from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday for an open house with the Writers Block Ink students.
This summer, 28 local Writers Block students have been exploring the Hempsted Houses and using their discoveries to inspire creative expression about contemporary issues. The students are learning about the houses and their occupants, including enslaved African Adam Jackson, who lived in the Joshua Hempsted House from 1727-1758.
Visitors will hear their observations, meet them and see the houses through their eyes. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.
Hempsted Houses are located at 11 Hempstead St.
