Environmental Art Exhibition Weekend

Sunday  4:30 pm to

The I-Park Foundation, a Connecticut artists’ residency program, is hosting its 2013 Environmental Art Bienniale this weekend.
I-Park is an international creative community located on a 450-acre nature preserve in East Haddam. I-Park’s mission is to nurture artistic pursuits in the fields of the visual arts, music composition/sound sculpture, architecture, moving image, landscape/garden design and creative writing.
On Saturday at 4:30 p.m., the I-Park Foundation is holding a seminal fundraising event at its facility. Attendees will be treated to an exclusive, preview introduction to the 2013 Environmental Art Trail at dusk, a wine and dinner reception with the 14 participating artists and a live, world premier performance by multi-media artist Jayoung Chung.
Tickets are $50 per person and may be obtained by visiting the www.i-park.org or by contacting Joanne Paradis at (860) 306-0636. All proceeds to benefit the artists-in-residence and related programs at I-Park.
At 2 p.m. Sunday, there will be a public exhibition, featuring 12 new installations by an international roster of artists working in the following disciplines: environmental sculpture, performance, sound sculpture, architecture, photography and new media. While this is a free event, attendees must acquire a ticket prior to Sept. 19 to assure admittance. Visit www.i-park.org.
