ECSO OPENS NEW SEASON
The Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Toshiyuki Shimada, begins its 69th season at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Garde Arts Center in New London.
“A Hero’s Life” will feature clarinetist and guest artist David Shifrin, a chamber musician who has collaborated with Wynton Marsalis, Emmanuel Ax, and André Watts.
Ticket holders are invited to a pre-concert chat at 7 p.m. by Shimada and Shifrin. Attendees are also invited to a free post-concert reception hosted by ECSO Board President Bob Reed and his wife, Mary Reed.
Ticket prices range from $28.80 to $62 with $12 tickets available for any one under 30 and active or retired military personnel. Tickets are available at www.gardearts.org or through the Eastern Connecticut Symphony office at (860) 443-2876.
