The Connecticut River Museum is pleased to welcome Onrust, a replica of Adriaen Block’s 1614 vessel- one of the first sailing ships built in the New World, and the first ever to sail up the Connecticut River!

Built over several years in upstate New York using traditional plans and means, the Onrust is a wholly unique ship that serves to educate and entertain visitors curious about the age of exploration, the fur trade, and our early colonial history.

River cruises will be offered aboard Onrust Thursdays through Mondays. When not giving cruises, Onrust will be available for exploration while docked at the Museum.

Cruise Rates:

Daytime- 1:30pm & 3:30pm (1.5 hours): $33 Adults, $25 children under 12.

Sunset- 6pm (2 hours): $40 regardless of age

Murph, Mike, Shane, and Collin, have collectively performed around the world and shared their humor for hundreds of thousands of audience members. Young Eagles Over Westerly 2017 will be held again this year at Dooney Aviation, Westerly State Airport, Tom Harvey Road Avenue B, Westerly from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free. This family aviation event is sponsored by EAA chapter 334 of Westerly.

Fully qualified, experienced volunteer pilots, in their own aircraft, will offer free airplane rides to young people ages 8-17 as part of this international program to introduce kids to the fun and wonder of flight. Young Eagles must have a parent or guardian present to sign the permission form. Kids will be given a short safety briefing before their flights. Weather, pilot availability, aircraft capacity and other factors may limit the number of flights given but every effort will be made to accommodate all interested, eligible kids. Bring your creative visions to life with your very own TV show! Introducing a new program at The Barn that will teach students all about TV production as they create their very own variety show. Under the guidance of television industry veteran Jessica Spinelli, participants can either learn to write, produce, direct and/or perform in front of the camera while having hands on experiences with studio and field equipment. From start to finish, students will be involved in the creation of several episodes of a show of their very own creation that will be aired on Madison's Public Access Channel. Students from 5th through 12th grade from any town in Connecticut are welcome to sign up. The program runs every Sunday, 12:30-2:30pm, from September 24th through December 17th with additional dates and times possibly added for filming and post production. There is a $200 participation fee that students can pay or they can assist with marketing efforts to cover the fee. Financial assistance available to those in need.
