Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with children’s games, crafts, and story times. Enjoy live music with Ted Phillips, performances by the Community Dance Ensemble, a Scholastic Book Fair, and reading and book signing with several well-known local authors, including Tish Rabe, best-selling author of “The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library,” Shelia Murphy Adams, Betsy Devany and Susie Scheyder. Presented by the Education Department, the event is open to the public and free with a donation of one new children’s book or $5 per family. Snow date is February 26, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton is now taking registration for our Wonderful Winter Story Time, a story program for children ages 18- months up to age 5 with a caregiver. Story Time is held on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. and will begin on January 23, 2017 and meets every Monday through March 27, with no session on President’s Day, February 20. Story Time features stories, songs with live music, and finger plays in the Children’s Room.
