Mike Evans, a UConn PhD student in wildlife biology, checks the barbed wire for strands of bear hair Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012 at one of his hair corrals he has created located in the south end of John A. Minetto State Park located in the Torrington/Goshen area. The samples of hair will undergo DNA analysis giving Evans and his Professor Tracy Rittenhouse information on the state's bear population, numbers, where it's moving, etc.
