Valentine's Day weddings

For the fifth year, Justice of the Peace and non-denominational minister Marie Tyler Wiley married couples in the Meeting House at Olde Mistick Village for free on Valentine's Day, Feb. 14, 2013. Wiley says she lives vicariously through the couples she marries, making-up for a rushed elopement with her husband 24 years ago. Couples need a valid marriage license from the town and can choose from one of five ceremonies of varied duration and style.

This is the fifth year that Wiley has offered the free officiations. Couples with a valid marriage license in the town could choose between one of five ceremonies of varied length and formality. Wiley married six couples by noon.
