Workers with contractor Cianbro installed the approximately 10,000 pound Bull Gear on the Mystic River Drawbridge Thursday. The gear is the last major installation in the 2 1/2 year $15-million restoration of the 90-year old bascule drawbridge between Groton and Stonington. The smaller pinion gears and the electric motors that will raise and lower the bridge are expected to be installed in the next week. The project is scheduled to be complete by April 15th.
