Lois Jennings, over 80 years-old, and Laraine Meyers, 66, both of Groton play the alto saxophone during practice for the New Horizons Band of Southeastern Connecticut at the Noank Fire House Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013. Jenninngs has only been playing the saxophone for one month and Meyers played the clarinet off and on since childhood and just 6 months ago switched to the saxophone. The band is made up of people over the age of 50 and beginners and out of practice musicians are encouraged to join. The band just started a month ago and the practice every Wednesday 2-3:30 p.m.
