New London firefighters make quick work of an apartment fire at at the Sandalwood Apartment Homes complex on Nautilus Drive in New London just after 5:00 p.m. Tuesday May 6, 2014. There was smoke showing from a ground floor apartment upon the fire department's arrival. Upon entering the apartment firefighters found the fire in the walls of a hallway. The apartment was badly damage by smoke, heat and water, partially from a broken water pipe. The cause of the fire is under investigation with the New London Fire Marshall's Office. There were no reported injuries.
