This year's been very, very good to Mystic Ballet.
The troupe took its first performance trip to Europe and has been invited back to a gala in Germany next year.
Mystic Ballet Academy has become federally recognized as a post-graduate higher education arts school.
And on Saturday, during its first performance of the new season, Mystic Ballet is being honored by the town of Stonington and the state of Connecticut, with a laudatory proclamation from Stonington First Selectman Edward Haberek Jr. Haberek will be at cocktail reception with Mystic Ballet at 6 p.m. Saturday.
The performance, at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum, is titled "G.R.A.B. - The Series," with that being an acronym for Genuine Resurrection of Artistic Bond. On the program are works created by Mystic Ballet resident choreographer Sergei Vanaev: "Wind," "Swan Lake" Pas de Deux - Black Swan, "Triple Fall," "No Pas de Deux" and "El Paso Requiem."
