If you book an artist and she shows up sandwiched between gigs at the Berklee School of Music and two nights at the Jazz at Lincoln Center program, you've probably got a serious heavyweight on your schedule.
So it is at Connecticut College Saturday when all-world jazz vocalist Dianne Reeves performs, backed by guitarists Russell Malone and Romero Lubambo.
Called the "Strings Attached" tour, the sparse but intuitive concept inspired Reeves' latest album, "When You Know." It features the same musical backing, allowing master interpreter Reeves plenty of room to spin and twirl seductively through a new batch of standards.
Prior to the new project, Reeves, a four-time Grammy winner, recorded the justly-lauded 2005 soundtrack to the George Clooney film "Good Night and Good Luck."
Should be a delightful show.
