Old Lyme – An assistant principal at Branford High School has been named the new principal of Lyme-Old Lyme High School. James Wygonik will begin his new job on Nov. 30, according to a statement released on Thursday.
Wygonik earned his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, a master’s degree in instructional technology from Southern Connecticut State University and an administrative certification from Sacred Heart University.
Wygonik previously taught high school English in New Fairfield and Madison and served as a technology instruction specialist at the Madison Public Schools. He has also coached lacrosse and baseball.
The Day hosted a web chat with New London Mayor Daryl J. Finizio to discuss the beginning of his new administration and news out of the city's police department.
