Game time is approaching here at Gampel Pavilion.
Here's some news:
-- Tonight's starting lineup: sophomore Kemba Walker, senior Jerome Dyson, senior Stanley Robinson, senior Gavin Edwards and freshman Alex Oriakhi. It is the first career start for Edwards who's appeared in 89 career games as a reserve.
-- Highly-regarded recruit Doron Lamb will arrive in Connecticut late Saturday night and begin his official visit Sunday. A 6-foot-4, 175-pound shooting guard, Lamb attends Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va. Kentucky, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arizona also are interested in Lamb.
-- UConn received letters of intent from incoming recruits Michael Bradley and Jerome Lamb, a 6-4 shooting guard out of Norcross (Ga.) High School. A 6-10, 215-pound forward, Bradley attends Tyner Academy in Chattanooga, Tenn. Both players gave oral commitments earlier this fall.
-- Reserve center Jonathan Mandeldove sat in the stands during the pre-game shoot-around. He's out indefinitely due to academic issues.
-- Dyson looks ready to go. He's dealing with an injured right big toe. No word on whether Dyson needed a shot to numb his toe. He's playing in his first regular season game since suffering a knee injury Feb. 11 against Syracuse.
"This is what I've been looking forward to a long time since I got hurt," Dyson said earlier this week. "I definitely want to come out and have a big game."
