Groton - Sarah Paternostro had 24 points for UConn-Avery Point in an 86-40 win over Quinsigamond Community College in women's basketball action Thursday.
Brianna Reilly added 23 points for the Pointers (6-0).
Men's soccer
• UConn lost to Monmouth in a 4-3 shootout after a scoreless tie in regulation in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Toni Stahl, Cruz Hernandez and Alan Ponce scored in the shootout for the Huskies (11-4-4).
Thanksgiving football
• Tickets for the Fitch at Ledyard football game on Thanksgiving Day will be on sale at Ledyard High today, Monday and Tuesday in the main office from 7:30 a.m. through 2 p.m. Tickets will be on sale at Fitch High School in the auditorium ticket booth next Monday and Tuesday from 10 a.m. through 2:30 p.m., and next Wednesday from 10 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students, but all tickets will be $5 at the gate on Thanksgiving Day.
Connecticut College honors
• Six Connecticut College athletes were named to the New England Small College Ath;etic Conference All-Sportsmanship teams. Honored athletes were: junior David Aigler (Men's cross country), senior Colleen MacPhee (women's cross country), senior Kelsey Fredericks (field hockey), senior Meg Christman (volleyball), senior Thomas Giblin (men's soccer) and senior Jessica Roeder (women's soccer).
College sailing
• Connecticut College finished their season at the Atlantic Coast Tournament on Nov. 14-15. Conn finished fifth overall with 53 points. Salve Regina won the event with 25 points. Peter Miller and Katie St. George finished 11th in the A Division. Wells Bacon and Elizabeth Wilsterman finished third in B division.
