New Stonegate Village owners not the villains

I am responding to the letter titled "Stonegate Village units weren't priced too high," published Nov. 13. I was taught that one should not be critical unless one had given forethought to the subject and can offer suggestions to remedy the perceived problem.
Whining about lost home equity at Stonegate Village is just that. I have not read nor heard a suggested means to remedy the dissatisfaction. It lacks understanding of the current state of the economy and the deflated Connecticut real-estate market.
The new owner (Garden Homes) is a savior, not villain, to the residents and the town government.
I have lived at Stonegate Village for four years and witnessed the reputation of the project become progressively negative in the eyes of town government and surrounding neighborhoods. I witnessed the resale value on my home go to zero. The mismanagement of the project and poor physical state of the developer had led the few residents to the brink of living in an unmanaged hay field.
I am concerned that continued carrying about one's unhappiness at Stonegate Village, and making their feelings public, will only bring our neighborhood back under public scrutiny, but with strong negative misunderstandings.
