New London – Bank Street has reopened after being closed for about 30 minutes this evening because of a fire at Candy’s Cozy Kitchen at 419 Bank St.
The fire was reported about 5 p.m. When firefighters arrived, smoke was coming out of the building. It took firefighters about 10 minutes to knock down the small fire that was contained mostly to the kitchen, said Battalion Chief Keith Nichols.
Bank Street was closed between Blinman and Reed streets while crews worked the scene.
There were no injuries and no one inside the building when the fire broke out.
Fire officials were working to determine a cause.
With the Valentine's Day holiday approaching, we wanted to see if any of our readers ever received a Valentine's gift that was memorably bad.
