Ledyard — Police arrested a man already in custody on larceny and forgery charges and charged him today with the burglary of a home in September.

Gary Ortega, 21, who currently resides at the Hartford Correctional Institution, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.

Police said Ortega was arraigned today at G.A. 10 in New London.

The arrest is part of widespread investigations into burglaries in the southeastern Connecticut area, police said.

More arrests are possible.
