Southeastern Connecticut will be a busy place next Tuesday when the CIAC state high school football playoffs begin.
All three local schools — New London, East Lyme and Montville — have unofficially earned the right to host semifinal games. The CIAC will officially announce its playoff pairings on Friday. All semifinals games begin at 6:30 p.m.
New London (10-0) is the top seed in Class M and will play No. 4 Bethel (No. 3 Berlin visits No. 2 Avon in the other semifinal).
East Lyme (9-1) is the No. 2 seed in Class MM and will play No. 3 Vinal Tech/Coginchaug (No. 1 New Canaan hosts No. 4 St. Paul/Goodwin Tech in the other semifinal).
Montville (9-1) is the No. 2 seed in Class SS and will play No. 3 Bullard-Havens of Bridgeport (No. 1 Holy Cross of Waterbury will host No. 4 St. Joseph of Trumbull in the other semifinal).
Once again this year, The Day is running its Peeps competition, in which we invite you to take Easter's favorite candy – Peeps – and turn them into art.
