Devils 2, Bruins 1

Jamie Langenbrunner and Zach Parise scored shootout goals to make goalie Martin Brodeur a winner on the day he became the NHL's career minutes leader in the New Jersey Devils' 2-1 win over the Boston Bruins on Friday.

Brodeur, who had 32 saves, surpassed Hall of Famer Patrick Roy for the most minutes played. The 37-year-old Brodeur has played 60,280. Roy played 60,235.

Parise opened the scoring in the second period. Blake Wheeler tied it early in the third and had Boston's lone shootout goal.

Islanders 3, Penguins 2

John Tavares scored off a rebound with 6:12 left to give New York a comeback victory over Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh.

Josh Bailey and Sean Bergenheim also scored and Dwayne Roloson made 19 saves for the Islanders. Evgeni Malkin and Matt Cooke scored for Pittsburgh.

Lightning 5, Rangers 1

Kurtis Foster had two goals, Steven Stamkos added his team-high 16th and the Lightning routed New York, spoiling Rangers coach John Tortorella's first game against his former team.

Tortorella, fired by Tampa Bay following the 2007-08 season, spent seven seasons with the Lightning, leading them to the 2004 Stanley Cup title.

Marty St. Louis had three assists, and Steve Downie and Paul Szczechura also scored for the Lightning. Mike Smith made 26 saves, allowing only Ryan Callahan's late third-period goal.

Ducks 3, Blackhawks 0

Teemu Selanne scored twice on the power play, and Jean-Sebastien Giguere had his first shutout of the season to help Anaheim end Chicago's winning streak at eight games - one short of tying the franchise record.

Giguere made 28 saves in his 32nd career shutout, continually frustrating a high-powered offense that had outscored its opponents 34-13 during the streak.

Wild 5, Avalanche 3

Chuck Kobasew had his second career three-goal game, and Andrew Brunette scored the winner for Minnesota on a third-period power play.

Owen Nolan also scored and Niklas Backstrom stopped 31 shots in the opener of a home-and-home series.

Sabres 4, Flyers 2

Tim Connolly scored twice in the third period and had two assists to help Buffalo end a four-game losing streak.

Drew Stafford had a goal and an assist, Paul Gaustad also scored and Ryan Miller made 31 saves for the Sabres.

Maple Leafs 6, Panthers 4

Niklas Hagman and Phil Kessel each scored two goals to lift Toronto.

Alexei Ponikarovsky had a goal and an assist, Matt Stajan added an empty-netter with 4 seconds remaining, and Jonas Gustavsson stopped 26 shots.
